I can quite happily state that nearly every bit of software used to create this site is freeware or open source.

Below you will find a list of programs and utilities i have used to build/create this site.

• Apache Web Server - the most widely used server platform in the world. Pretty good for free :)
• PHP 5 - PHP is a server side scripting language.
• MySql - Database Engine - perfect mix of speed and features for web based application development. A common partner to PHP.
• CentOS - CentOS is an Enterprise-class Linux Distribution

• PSPad - A simple text editor that i use to write all my code php, xhtml, javascript, etc... with. Quite simply the best text editor i have found. not flashy but functional & free.
• Top Style Lite - The best free CSS editor out there, also give you a live preview of your css file. This is a must have bit of software and it is free.
• WinSPC - Secure FTP software. This is also a free bit of kit and does pretty much everything you need for a SFTP program.
• PuTTY - is a free implementation of Telnet and SSH for Win32 and Unix platforms. Check the website out for more details. PuTTY is another invaluble bit of software kit.

• PhpMyAdmin - A fantastic script written in PHP to facilitate the management of MySql database through a web browser.

• Adobe CS3 Design Premium - This is the standard design package and you just got to know how to use it.

I currently use 5 different computers at home depending on what i am doing.

• Sony VAIO PCG-FX880k. This thing must be like 4 years old, perhaps more, but is still going strong.
• Toshiba Laptop (will update when on it)
• Custom PC 1
• Custom PC 2
• Dell Desktop - home server

I will update the info on my other computers when i get a chance.

That is pretty much it for the moment, i will keep this page updated everytime i use a new application, and add those that have not made it in this update.
